Quilting Adventure! In the beginning!

This 7 week course will introduce you to many aspects of quilting and give you a great foundation to build your skills as you embark on your quilting journey. No previous quilting experience is required. Basic knowledge of your sewing machine would be an asset.

Basic Requirements:
Please do not purchase fabric prior to the first session. There are several ways to accumulate fabric and many tool options. At the first session you will see several options and we discuss the pros and cons of each option before you make your purchase. The supply list will be distributed at the first meeting. If you already have fabric and tools that you wish to use, please bring them to the first session.

From Sketch to Stitch
Vibrant colours and stunning background
In this class, you will use a sketched design (provided) to free-motion quilt it on the fabric as if you were sketching on a sketch pad. Students will learn how to create stunning backgrounds using stencils and a ruler.
Free-motion techniques will be demonstrated. Once the design if fully quilted, it will be coloured using Inktense pencils. Different techniques will be demonstrated.

More Patchwork Illusion
Friday April 4, 2025 at ICAC from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
In this one day workshop you will learn by using colours with the tips Paul will share, to take a traditional quilt block design and create a 3D illusion patchwork cube. The amazing layouts that can be produced in this way will make great illusion quilts.

Mosaic Landscape Workshop
with Robin Bogaert
A class to consider a different construction for a landscape quilt. The sky captures the mood of the season and scene and includes mosaic piecing. Based on the book "Radiant Landscapes by Gloria Loughman" *Highly recommended*
You will learn the mosaic method, add decorative thread and a silhouetted applique to enhance your work of art.
Included in this class is Robin's own unique method to "face an art quilt."
